I began a new series, and I forgot that I would encounter readers who were “grossed out” by my use of anatomically correct vocabulary. That to some readers, the words labia, vulva, clitoris, and vagina were not only “unsexy” but seen as “disgusting.” I have another blog about this, but I want to encourage women to love their bodies. I use these words because they should be as neutral as lips, tongue, ear, and fingertips. I use these words because I want women to love their bodies and talk about them in ways that celebrate women. No one should be disgusted by the words labia, clitoris, and vagina any more than they are by lips, tongue, or fingertips. Love yourselves, your sexuality, and celebrate being women.
